The Making of RAPT
Beautiful Things Take Time
Every RAPT bag is handcrafted in New York City in small batches by skilled local craftspeople. From the first cut of leather to final assembly, each component is placed by hand — a deliberate, time-intensive process that prioritizes precision, durability, and care.
We believe quality cannot be rushed. Making slowly allows every piece to receive the attention it deserves, resulting in bags that are built to endure and designed to delight.
Built with Intention
Each bag begins as a system of individual parts — leather panels, custom hardware, straps, and structural components — assembled carefully into a finished piece.
RAPT’s signature mixed-metal bars are looped through the spine one at a time and secured by hand. Held by studs, not stitches, this construction choice reflects our belief that design and function should be equally visible.
Materials are selected for durability, character, and longevity. Edges are finished slowly, layer by layer. The result is a bag that feels expressive, confident, and quietly engineered.
It Started with One Bag
RAPT began as something personal. Founder Nicole Levy designed the first bag for herself — a piece that felt joyful, expressive, and beautifully made. When strangers kept stopping her to ask about it, she realized the feeling it created wasn’t meant to stay private.
That small spark of everyday joy became the foundation for RAPT: a brand rooted in color, craftsmanship, and the idea that what you carry should lift your mood, not just hold your things.
Made Here
RAPT is proudly made in New York City, working closely with local artisans who bring decades of experience in craftsmanship and production. Keeping our process close allows for careful quality control, thoughtful iteration, and deep collaboration.
Each bag carries more than materials and design — it carries the hands, care, and city behind it.
Built to endure. Designed to delight.
Be carried away.
